A genetics expert from the Cambridge University, Aubrey de Grey, believes that a person whose age is less than 40 can live up to the age of thousand years. But the fact is that he should not meet with an accident or commit suicide before this happens. His theory is only applicable to people who die of some natural cause and aging is considered as a disease.

De Grey said, “I think we’re in striking distance of keeping people so healthy, that at 90 they’ll carry on waking up in the same physical state as they were at the age of 30.”

The First Human On Earth To Live 1,000 Years Is Alive Today, Experts SayAubrey David Nicholas Jasper de Grey is an English author and biomedical gerontologist, currently the Chief Science Officer of the SENS Research Foundation.

De Grey has also faced several oppositions to his ambitious claims. A former surgeon from the Yale School of Medicine, Sherwin Nuland, believed that it’s impossible for humans to live for this long period of time. Nuland said in relation to the theory proposed by de Grey,“His plan will not succeed. Were it to do so, it would undermine what it means to be human.”

Despite all these negative comments de Grey is not the only one who believes humans can live for so long.  A lot of people in this world try to gain immortality, including a number of geneticists, doctors, scientists and even nanotech experts. Scientists believed that it is possible to completely slow down or even stop the process of aging. Immortality is the topmost priority of many people. Even the government of U.S. invests millions of dollars on its National Institute of Aging, which is a department of the National Institute of Health. Funds are aimed for researches done in the field of “the biology of aging”.

An expert of the Institute for Molecular Manufacturing, Robert Freitas said, “There are many different components of aging and we are chipping away at all of them.” Freitas also believes that we are very close to the answer of finding the path which leads to immortality. The most wonderful fact is that in the next two to four decades, we will be able to cure the disease called aging of humans.

But there are also many problems associated with aging the most significant one of those might be overpopulation.

But the fact is that the majority of people who support the concept of immortality think that the problem of overpopulation can be solved very easily. Many scientists and researcher believe that initiatives like the colonization of the moon could deal with problem of overpopulation while at the same time foster immortality.

There might be a number of facts which might be the reason behind our aim to achieve immortality, like the thirst of many people to explore the world, gain a lot of knowledge as well as learn various civilizations and customs. While there is also an overall fear and horror associated with death. Almost every one of us when living alone thinks about our end and demise. The basic trend around the world is that none of us actually want to die. And if the secret of immortality is found that it will be a great gift to the entire human population.
