If somebody’d said before the flight, “Are you going to get carried away looking at the earth from the moon?”
I would have say, “No, no way.” But yet when I first looked back at the earth, standing on the moon, I cried.
— Alan Shepard
Ever since man has made his step to space, we have always been fascinated with the fact that whether our technologies and structures are visible from space or not. Let’s look at some of the great structures, man-made objects seen from space:
Myth featuring the Great Wall of China
The Great Wall of China that spreads from Southern edge of Inner Mongolia stretches up to 13,000 miles. Constructed more than 2200 years ago, this is the oldest wall, which is also the largest man-made structure. However, ever since man entered space, many titles are featured to this wall and this wall is the only visible human structure, seen from the moon. However, the astronauts claim it is barely visible from low Earth orbit, and even then only under perfect weather conditions, but not from the Moon.
Some great structures of the Earth
Some of the great cities like the New York, Tokyo or Sao Paulo are the ones that never sleep at night. These cities, though not possibly visible and spotted during the daytime, the astronauts claimed, that looks stunning during the night, through the city lights. This also makes it even more visible, the enormous consumption of electricity over the day and night by these metropolises.
The desert roads are not the most fascinating and exciting ways, but since they are very long and cut through spaces untouched, they can be easily seen from space. The astronauts claim that they perfectly see these geometrical paths from the space, as they are patternless of the desert.
This Pyramid of Giza was built 4500 years back and is one of the most clearly visible pyramids, which can be seen from space. But if somebody wants to see this naked eye, that is a little very difficult. You need high power camera or lens for viewing this object clearly from the space. But since the ISS level is at the low orbit, with the majority satellite communications, 100 times more away, this is impossible to see any pyramid from there.
Islands of Dubai
People have always known Dubai as the rich and famous and the modern playground country. This is a true fact indeed. This place has 2 massive islands as. The astronauts explain that since the Palm Island is the largest artificial island that is present on Earth, they are able to snap perfect pictures of the island from space since it was constructed in 2006.
Spanish Greenhouses and Bridges
Spanish Greenhouses cover 64000 acres from the Southern Spain and is the light plastic cluster which constitutes $1.5 of the Spanish economy. This is clearly spotted from the space.
Alongside, you can also see some of the well-known bridges coastlines from space, like the Bang Na Expressway in Thailand.
Kennecott Copper Mine
Featuring in the Southwest of the Salt Lake City, this is known as the largest manmade excavation. This is clearly visible from space which is all the more getting larger.
