Summer heat has reached its peak and there is nothing you feel passionate to cook in such a weather or even eat. If you are willing to get refreshed and enjoy your summer dessert with full power, there is nothing better to prepare than sorbet: not too heavy as ice cream and extremely easy to cook.
Here is what you need:
2 pounds of any kind of fruit or berries you have in your garden or can get from the market. The blueberries, raspberries and melons work the best in flavor.
8 ounces sugar
1 ounce of freshly squeezed lemon juice
1.2 ounces vodka, what kind of refreshing meal comes without a touch of alcohol
What you need to do:
If you are making the sorbet from berries, just rinse them and cut the big ones into smaller cubes. If you are working with fruit: rinse, peel off the skin, and chop into scall pieces.
Put all the berries and fruit inside the food processor, add sugar, lemon juice and vodka. Make a mix until pureed.
Remove the mixture, place in another container and freeze it for 4-6 hours. One trick to know about adding sugar: turn it into the sugar syrop before mixing the fruit. This way you will be sure it got mixed up properly.
Enjoy your simple as that sorbet!
