Krystle Missildine changed regular canvases for her artworks for the delicate feathers of wild turkeys and macaws . Rather interesting choice, but the animal portrays ranging from small birds to wild cats are absolutely astonishing and fit perfectly into small feathers preserving extreme details and bright color palette.
Thanks to the natural texture of the feather, the animal’s fur gets a wispy visual effect, which makes the images quite realistic. The artist made her career thanks to the pet portraiture, but the idea of painting on feathers came to her only recently and that’s how she added the skill into her collection. The first such artwork was performed on the feather from her Lutino Cockatiel.
But painting on extraordinary canvases is not the only skill Missildine possesses, as she is quite good in painting animals with charcoal, graphite and even colored pencils. She even takes orders, so if you wish to make a portrait of your favorite pet on the feather or regular canvas, she will do it for you.
