The world’s first hotel with its own rainforest is set to open in Dubai. It has scheduled to be completed in 2018, it will have an artificial beach, splash pool and trees that spray mist.
Rosemont Hotel & Residences is the latest example of over-the-top luxury in the emirate, it will also feature an adventure play area for children, a bowling alley and a trampoline park.
With a reported build cost £230million five-star hotel will have 450 guest rooms, fine dining, a VIP lounge, spa, gym, and meeting rooms.
The 75,000 square feet outdoor rainforest will include a splash pool and manmade beach, designed without sand, and a rainforest café and stream. The stream will be housed inside a supersized terrarium that will use recycled water, and there will be trees that spray mist to water the other plants.
Extremely expensive design includes two towers, each 53 storeys high, and the rainforest will be developed inside a five-storey podium that will act as a pedestal between the towers.
The hotel will be operated by Hilton Worldwide, a 280-unit serviced apartment tower will house a sky lobby and sky pool, an entertainment area and retail amenities.
The hotel and apartment towers were designed by ZAS Architects, which has offices in Canada and the United Arab Emirates.
