“Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow creeps in this petty pace till the last syllable of recorded time.
And all our yesterdays have lighted fools the way to dusty death.
Out, out brief candle! Life is but a shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more.
It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.”
— Shakespeare’s MacBeth
What is the point of human existence?
This is a very big question. But, unfortunately, most people never quite seem to figure it out. It’s not that they fail to try. To the contrary — most people spend the greater part of their lives being told, and so believing, that they must figure out what it is God put them on this earth to do. And, this becomes their greatest aim.
Many think that the Genesis is in any way unique in its story of our creation and existence, the ancient texts from different cultures will tell you that they have been saying that for a very long time before that. However, not only do many ancient texts speak of very similar historical account, but they seem to give greater detail and add some very intriguing information to the whole story.
One such story is that the 20, 000 year old Sumerian tables that took Russian-American archeologist and researcher Zecharia Sitchin 20 years to translate. What he found changed his whole life.
Similar to earlier authors such as Immanuel Velikovsky and Erich von Däniken, Sitchin advocated hypotheses in which extraterrestrial events supposedly played a significant role in ancient human history.
Nibiru and Enki Awakening
Sumerian writings speak of the days when heaven and earth were created. According to Zecharia Sitchin’s interpretation the ancient text is an autobiography of an extra-terrestrial being Enki from a planet beyond Neptune called Nibiru.
What is amazing the story of Enki’s autobiography starts very long time before the emergence of Homo sapiens, or us, as a species.
The Anuna (the Sumerian name for the sky and earth gods, the assembly of the high gods) awakened Enki from his subterranean, underwater habitat. He was in what could be described today as a state of suspended animation.
According to tablet’s text Enki arrived on Earth along with 20 other astronauts and his wife in search of a material that would allow for life to perpetuate on their planet – gold. Their planet’s atmosphere needed gold dust in order to reflect ultraviolet radiation, which was making life on Nibiru very difficult.
The legend says the Sumerians or ‘ancient gods’ could not endure the physical toils while trying to excavate the precious materials form the Earth. This is when Enki got the idea to create helpers by mixing their DNA with already existing hominids on Earth. According to the tablets the important mission of creating the intellectual human beings was given to Enki’s wife Ninhursag as she was knowledgable doctor and scientist in genetic engineering field.
It’s a theory that has been ruled out as quite simply preposterous by academics and peer reviewed Archaeologists around the world since it was first proposed. There are many Ancient Alien theorists who refuse to consider Sitchin’s contributions due to his lack of empirical evidence and the fact that his is a translation of the tablets that many Cuneiform experts do not agree with.
However, many modern researchers believe that some of Zecharia Sitchin’s work is legitimate and could be used to help in the translation of other tablets creating a context for the names and stories of these ancient people. Among this new breed of researcher are explorers like Michael Tellinger, who claims to have found forensic evidence to support many of the unsubstantiated claims that Sitchin made in the last century. Tellinger holds that there is in fact evidence of gold mining in parts of South Africa and that some of the references in Sitchin’s translation of the Sumerian texts can be attributed to actual places there, with landmarks and megalithic structures that fit the narrative perfectly.
Sumerian text experts are few and far between and there are thousands of tablets yet to be dated and deciphered in order to draw a definitive conclusion about the nature of these creation stories and historical information. Regardless of whether or not it is true, it’s a fascinating theory that we would love to explore firsthand.
