15 Fruits And Vegetables That Are Not Worth Buying Organic

15 Fruits And Vegetables Never Pay For Organic

In this era of modernisation, where people have come more health conscious and working towards adopting a healthier lifestyle, organic produce is gaining much importance. Organic crops and organic clothing are finding their places in the top shelves. While this produce is better for health, it comes with a huge expense as well. The experts claim that there are 15 fruits and vegetables that you should not pay extra for organic.

What Is Organic?

Conventional methods of farming involve a heavy use of pesticides and harmful chemicals. Organic produce is cultivated using natural fertilisers and absolutely no chemical pesticides. This produce is better for your health as it has no synthetic chemicals that can prove to be toxic for your health.

Conventional crops possess a danger to the whole food chain as they carry the harmful toxins in the form of pesticides and insecticides. These toxins are so harmful that they can even prove carcinogenic to your body. It is the reason why organically produced crops are given more weightage nowadays.

When a crop is cultivated organically, there is much more use of labour and man hours. And as they say, good things come with a cost, organically produced crops are priced almost 20% to 25% higher than the conventional ones. But before you buy them, it is important to know are they really good for your health.

15 Fruits And Vegetables That Are Naturally Organic

Experts say that there are minimal amounts of pesticides found even in the organically produced crops. Some conventional crops are such that they naturally contain that much amount of pesticides, as their organic variant would. So that makes not much of a difference if you buy the conventional variant.

‘The difference between organic and conventional produce is often blurred, you cannot label your produce “organic” without being certified to an organic standard, but conventional growers can and do achieve certification to an environmental standard such as Freshcare Environmental or EnviroVeg.’ Mr Bennett told Daily Mail Australia.

The Environmental Working Group (EWG) in the United States, also released their findings  on the conventional produce that contain minimal amount of pesticides or chemicals. The list is below:
